According to official sources, China’s best-selling electric vehicle, the Geely Auto Galaxy Star Wish, will enter the European Union market under the name Geely E2. The new model is expected to arrive soon, offering customers “strong dynamic performance, spacious interior, and high safety standards.” For a compact city EV measuring just 4.1 meters in length and equipped with an 85 kW electric motor, this represents an ambitious proposition.
The Geely Galaxy Star Wish became China’s best-selling car in 2025. The urban electric vehicle continued to hold this title from January to May 2026, achieving cumulative deliveries of 160,800 units. In China, the model is priced between 64,800 and 94,800 yuan (approximately $9,545–$13,960).
Outside China, the Geely Star Wish is marketed under two different names: Geely EX2 and Geely E2. The model has already entered several overseas markets, becoming a best-selling vehicle in Belarus, where it is also assembled locally. The EX2 is also being produced at a Renault manufacturing facility in Brazil, as the French automaker continues to strengthen its partnership with Geely.
With its competitive pricing, compact size, and strong sales performance in China, the Geely E2 is expected to become another important Chinese EV model entering the European market.
On July 6, Geely Auto Europe officially announced that the Geely Galaxy Star Wish will enter the European Union market under the name “E2.” Brand officials described it as “a compact electric hatchback designed for everyday life.” Geely Auto Europe did not provide further official details about the new model. However, the specifications of this vehicle are already widely known.
The Geely E2 is a compact electric hatchback measuring 4,135 mm in length, 1,805 mm in width, and 1,580 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,650 mm. It features a “cute” and friendly design, with a closed front grille and teardrop-shaped headlights. The vehicle comes equipped with 16-inch wheels. Other highlights include a 375-liter rear trunk and a 70-liter front trunk (frunk). Inside, the dashboard features a 14.6-inch touchscreen display.
The Geely E2 is powered by a rear-mounted electric motor producing 85 kW (114 hp). The motor is paired with a 39.4 kWh battery pack, delivering a WLTP driving range of 317 km. The vehicle can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 10.2 seconds.
The official European specifications of the Geely E2 will be announced before its formal launch. It is worth noting that the Geely Galaxy Star Wish is also scheduled to enter the UK market at the end of August 2026 under the name “EX2.” The United Kingdom is not a member of the European Union.
